Welcome to Art Book Club’s second book, and first time doing figure drawing as the main subject!
If you are new to ABC and curious on how we work, feel free to scroll down where you will find the book contents, schedule, and galleries with art from all the different artists who have joined in this excellent adventure these past few years. Fortunately you don’t need the book in order to participate, however, if you have it you should probably take it as a sign to join the club!
As you may have guessed we’re working with Life Drawing by Robbert Barret, and using free resources from all over the internet to support our studies as we let the book guide us through the principles. We all work from the same references each topic, but don’t worry, our sources are from royalty free resources such as unsplash, pexels, wikimedia commons, and whatever is applicable. Unless otherwise stated you should be able to use your resulting studies in commercial work down the line without any complications.
If you want to get more practice in between the showcase references, because mileage and repetition will really help you progress, we’ve gathered a few tools that can help you out: Timed Figure Drawing Resources
Keep in mind that showcases are usually on Saturdays and are hosted on twitch, and uploads for the showcases are done through discord. If you have any questions (that are not answered by the FAQ) please ask them during a stream or in the discord. And please do submit your art in Safe For Twitch manner, so sadly, showcases will not be allowed to show boobs and other bits.
Happy arting!
